Sentiment is very optimistic. When we get to these levels, I become a seller pretty much either way the market goes. If it continues higher and bullishness increases, I use strength for nailing down profits into strength. If the market experiences distribution and stocks start getting hit, I'm stopped out and forced to cash. The only way I stay with a frothy market that starts to show signs of danger is if individual stock setups continue to work... but I keep them on a short leash. Can the rally keep going? The S&P 500 has gone 280 days without experiencing a one-day –2% decline. But since 1965 there have been five streaks that were longer, with one lasting 950 days. Sentiment has also been at an extreme level for quite a while, but again, not the longest; there were a few that lasted longer.
